Album sacerdotum

The book Album Sacerdotum. Prosopographical study of the membership of the College of Septemviri epulones is the result of work on the research project The Priests of Jupiter. The Septemviri epulones college in Roman public religion. This book contains biographies of all known members of the College of Septemviri epulones. The biographies contain information about the careers of the members of the college and their family connections. The biographies are preceded by a detailed prosopographic analysis, which allows us to determine the typical career path of the members of the college and their mutual connections. The aim of this book is also to present the structure of the Septemviri epulones college and its position among other priestly colleges.

Joanna Marciniszyn is graduate of doctoral studies at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Zielona Góra, majoring in history. Her research interests focus on the history of ancient Rome, women’s history, the history of historiography, and prosopography. The main area of her research is the social history of Rome, with particular emphasis on the Principate period, especially the role and position of women in the social structure and their image in literature, as well as the history of Roman religion.
